The fully automated inline X-ray inspection system Y.MU 59 for has been designed to detect anomalies in castings in a reliable and fast manner.

The castings to be X-ray inspected are conveyed through the testing station on pallets. Multiple parts can be placed on each palette. As travel between different testing positions directly influences the cycle time of the X-ray system, YXLON is using industrial robots desiged for high speed and high positioning accuracy for the manipulation of the castings.

The fully automated X-ray inspection system Y.MU 59 is equipped with PC-based Y.PXV 5000 control software which allows a automated test procedure. All inspection procedure is performed under the complete control of Y.PXV 5000  to present the human inspector images of  best quality.

With the inline X-ray inspection system Y.MU 59, a large range of test samples can inspected without the need for lengthy changeover times. In combination with a part identification system, random mode operation is no problem either. The normal operation mode can be interrupted anytime without any problems, for the occasional inspection of e.g. individual parts under development.

The fully automated inline X-ray inspection system Y.MU 59 is designed for the fast serial inspection of castings of various dimensions and weights. The parts to be inspected are fed into the X-ray shielded cabinet and picked up by one of two integrated industrial robots. For the inspection, the robot manipulates the casting in the vertical oriented X-ray beam.
X-ray tube and detector are built in stationary. YXLON standard imaging system for most casting is a state of the art flat panel detector. Other imaging systems like Image Intensifiers can be used depending on the application.
The PC-based system control and image processing software controls the complete inspection sequence: system control, part identification, automatic defect recognition and classification, marking and sorting of the inspected parts.
