The wheel inspection system Y.WHEEL 6000 is designed for the high-speed X-ray inspection of unmachined light alloy wheels up to 15.8” height and 27.6" in diameter. Due to the special conveyance and gripper unit, the wheel inspection system is insensitive even to big flashes. Either mixed mode or batch processing is possible. The wheel inspection system can be operated in two standard modes: In the semi automated mode the manipulation of the wheel as well as the X-ray parameters are controlled by the numeric control. During operation every inspection position is acknowledged by the operator with a "accept" or "reject" decision. With the preset is defined whether a "reject" decision stops the test sequence or not. In the manual operation mode the operator positions the wheel via joysticks and adjusts the X-ray parameters manually.
The U-arm manipulator of the wheel inspection system with the X-ray source and the image intensifier is fixed to one of the service doors and may be swung out of the X-ray enclosure for service purposes.
